There are three kinds of nonmechanical rules.
Character post rules
If someone attacks your character verbally or "physically," you are expected to react only with your character. Not with your meatspace persona. This is very important for the continued enjoyment of all who use this forum.
When posting as your character, you need only keep it PG-13. Cussing is allowed, blaspheming is allowed, depiction of violent or sexual scenes are allowed, but you need to consider the broad demographic this forum appeals to. Put all truly graphic posts in disclaimed spoilers or put them in a link with fair warning. Violating this rule is grounds for warnings.
Out of character post rules
When posting as yourself, however, the rules are stricter. Violating these rules can result in an immediate ban. The length of such a ban will be determined by the admins.
- You will not post slurs
- You will not attack religions
- You will attempt to keep all criticism constructive
Suggested rules or guidelines
Just like in d20 pen and paper roleplaying games, this is a story. Stories are improved by tension. Tension is improved by secrecy. You are asked to keep this forum reasonably secret, to avoid spoilers, etc.
It is also suggested that you link your campaign world to the Diamond Pantheon as closely as possible for the enjoyment of yourself and others. There are also mechanical ways to enforce this.
Finally, my advice is that you have fun - and remember that all the guidelines are there to create a more immersive game, and I welcome suggestions in the Suggestion Box.
Playtest
During the playtest, I ask that you not elaborate on current rules to nonplaytesters. They may join the forum at a later date and would not appreciate having expectations for a concept that has been rebuilt from the ground up. If you want a friend involved in the playtest, ask permission first.
