Try crafts, new technologies, that sort of thing.

Try magic.

They appear unimpressed by these things. They have rudimentary primal magics of their own, and are not interested in improving their agrarian lifestyle.

They communicate all this by demonstration alone, of course.

I try a feat of great strength! (amplified by the holistic hydraupickup in my gauntlet)

I will search among the giants for any sign of the cat-like sneak.

In all your journeys, it is rare that you find him - he finds you.

So you wander among the giants, looking for the sneak. Then you hear chattering monkey-laughter coming from somewhere you've already looked.

I try hiding myself as best as I can and watching the world go by - I watch Durin interact with the giants for now - and see what induces the sneak to laughter. I am disguised by the trilobite and by my own skills.

The sneak loves misfortune on the part of any party at all, it seems.

In the areas of this terrain that are most miserable and/or humorous, I will erect a series of traps for the sneak, many of which will be disguised as (and double as) traps for the lizard creatures of these realms. My intent is not so much to actually catch the sneak, but to see how it reacts to traps for it.
