One sun rises in the sky.

Two small irregular shadows flit across the plains to soak up its light.

One sun rises in the sky.

One strong shadow streaks toward Durin's palace.
Two faded, nearly invisible shadows trail shortly behind.

I presume these are similar in appearance to our other little shadow we found?

Unfortunately, I also presume that these are stronger shadows, a little bit more certain of what they're trying to get out of life.

Also, why does everything seem to want to get Durin?

I will form a shadow myself, and shape myself around the gateway to Durin's abode, sealing off as many dimensions as I can.

Durin's home is the battlefield! They're headed for the Sslugs!

Or you could be right, because Durin was the most powerful one to oppose them. But that seems backwards to me!

You're right about one thing for certain - we shouldn't let them get where they're going.

Nor is not concerned with the shadows or tricksies, Nor rides one of the flying lizards around looking for shinys and other things.

The Gardens are full of things that glitter.

Strangely, Nor, you keep noticing riches that disappear as you approach.

For example, you spot a bright gem in the staff of a statue in the next ridge. By the time you have flown up over the ridge and to the statue, the gem is gone, leaving just some crumbling plaster or snapped bolts in its place.

Nor continue to search until he finds shinys in a large quantity, landing and exploring near there for permanent shiny, sniffing for shinys.

You find an entire rose garden that delights you. Each flower is encrusted with high quality glass beads, refracting the sunlight and causing the plants to grow to large proportions. The stems are layered with translucent emeralds over living cells, and the roots actually appear to be made of gold threads.

Squealing with childlike glee, Nor starts snatching up some of the flowers by parts, taking some of the blossoms, some stems and some of the golden roots. Longingly he gazes at the flower bushes, coming to the decision that they are indeed glorious enough to be near his throne. Nor snatch entire bush, root and all, and scamper back toward Crognac to plant it, noting where Nor found it encase Nor wants to send tribe for more.
