A Concrete Bridge and a maze

Yerkan comes upon a bridge made of concrete, transitioning from one peak to another. It seems very out of place.

On the other side is the first appearance of a traditional maze. The tunnel swoops below the mountain's surface, twists and turns and branches out several hundred times underground. Occasionally it breaches the surface again.

Esteliza can see one path leading back to the rocky parts of the mountains, other parts far within a winding maze, and a path of obsidian that seems to lean toward the Border Volcano.

I'll follow the obsidian path.

Hmm. I suppose I could get around to crossing the bridge (very slowly, in my usual form of an old man) and entering the maze. I will use an n-dimensional depth-first search, always taking the left path I haven't taken yet at the most recent point in time I haven't taken it in yet.

A fleet of Yerkans begins exploring the maze. One of them calls out, and they all flit back into that Yerkan.

Puzzle ID #: 13
Time: 4 days
Discoverer: Yerkan
Attempts: 40

Yerkan has come to a pinnacle or spire in the concrete, where it begins melding back into the rock of the mountain.

Atop the spire sits a diamond balance scale. One pan is made of a big red cloth, with a few raw meats inside. This is resting on the floor, apparently pressed down by the weight of the pan’s contents. You think you can see the glitter of a diamond egg trapped beneath. The other pan is a giant green basket. Being empty, it is raised high in the air.
You also spot a gold-bordered piece of slate, and some chalk.
What do you do?

Nor wanders up, stares at the scale and draws pictures of the meats on the slate with the chalk and sets it in the empty green basket.
"Shiny? Nor smells youuussss...."

The scales do not tip quite enough.
