The Jungle's Edge

[Diamond Master]

On great marshy rafts of vegetation, or solid, shifting plates of diamond, a thick jungle grows.
Animals from all sorts of strange universes populate it, though many do not live to see a new sunrise.
There seems to be a chasm at one end.

I walk toward the chasm slowly and steadily, carefully observing my surroundings.

You are constantly avoiding poisonous plants, poisonous snakes, and biting insects.

Progress is very slow. The trees grow so closely together that you are forced to choose paths and hope they continue to head somewhere.

[Ptah]

I sally forth, ignoring how unpleasant it is and relying on my sense of direction to keep me oriented.

There is a sea serpent, but no dragon.
There is a sphinx, but no centaur.
There is a manticore, but no basilisk.
There is a will-o-the-wisp, but no gremlin.
What do you do?

After a long time squatting next to this strange sight, rubbing my temples, muttering things like "Aunt Sally" and "linguistic puzzles," I stand up.

"I bet Yerkan would love this one," I mutter, and continue huffily on my way.

Nor gravity hops through jungle, "Ooooh scrundles and fun bits, just like home. Even smells like home!" Nor chomps on random creatures as Nor passes, not caring about the toxicity as Nor grew up eating ones identical and probably worse on home plane.

Nor stumbles deeper into the jungle. One who continued on foot would trip and find his feet constantly entangled.

Nor, you reach a dark thicket, growing up over your head.
