1. A Sandy Beach

A peaceful bay?
The water is blood-red and the sandy bottom seems to boil just below its surface.
At one end, the bay fades into a jungle.
At the other it is flanked by a rocky height which borders the Lava Molt's volcano.

Nope, not slogging through the marsh. Or the mountains.

I think I'll try raising the boat. With a flock of paper crows. (They're fashioned after Lester, but not quite as easy to destroy by getting wet.)

The boat comes loose. It is in shape enough to float once the water is dumped from it. You even find an oar.

Great! I nervously step into the boat and pick up the oar. It both parts seem safe/functional, I push off from shore and set off for the jungle.

You make good progress. Your way is eventually blocked by a row of wooden posts set deep into the water and rising above its surface. A shimmering in the air directly above the posts makes you nervous about climbing over them.

After some searching, you find a gap in the posts. Investigating further, you find that there is a path between a large array of the wooden posts.

Does the shimmering persist over the path, or is it completely clear? If it's clear, I shall proceed. If not, I'll slick my stick into the shimmer.

Mm. Well, RETAW is obviously WATER spelled backwards, so I guess I'll try going along the straightaway backwards. I turn my boat around and paddle backwards.

Puzzle ID #: 2
Attempts: Unlimited
Resets: 1 (2 eggs available)
Time: 3 days (only Ptah may attempt this puzzle until then)
Discoverer: Ptah

You paddle along and are soon lost in a maze of different paths through the posts.

After much rowing, you come to a straightaway where you make a lot of progress.

Unfortunately, the straightaway never seems to end, so you take some side passages. You end up back on a straightaway. Eventually you come to a post with a little diamond set into it. Etched into the diamond you read "RETAW".

From there, the maze seems to go on forever, though you cruise along at high speed for some time; you cannot seem to find a way forward to your goal.

What do you do?

You feel a slight resistance and sparkle of magic, but make no new progress.

Nor sniffs the air as wanders the area, when suddenly Nor smells what Nor covets: shinys! Nor gravity shifts and jumps, propelling Nor toward the area of the rift and landing firmly on Thrash's shoulder.
"Hey, big thing thing, Nor smell shiny!"
Nor sees the diamond egg and gravity shifts in front of the egg in an attempt to rip it out of the portal and makes Nor center pull of local gravity so it would come to him.
