Something is stirring

The most perilous terrain to most, the Lava Molt springs from the ruined face of an adamas mountain. The force which shattered the mountain is unknown. The Molt flows over trenches and moraines of previous spills, creating rivers and sprays of lava. Deities have begun to build a network of bridges and footpaths from which to view these wonders.

The gods have access to many dimensions. Yet in any calculation, from any perspective, the source of the quake is DOWN.

Something this powerful would have to span the multiverse, the metaverse, the Diamond of Existence itself.

Campaign worlds rarely produce such events, though sometimes they do - as Thrash pointed out earlier, the Forgotten Realms Facet is undergoing a great event known as the Sundering.

In the annals of the Precedent, in the Icy Wastes and Plane of the Mountain, you find reference to powerful deities whose potency extends to the heart of the universe. Hundred Handed Ones, Titans, Protogenoi...The Abrominae, Sessile Tartarus, and once-captive Steep Loki and Steep Fenris...these monsters and primordials would have the strength to shake the universe to its core. This quake is nothing compared to the events that ravaged the Icy Wastes and made even the Steepest flee (some coming through a portal much like the one in the Hamlet of Heroes, no less).

Yerkan bends to notice trilobites fleeing from chasms in the earth. His perceptions of the land below become steadily less cloudy.

"So we are most likely not to the end of this Facet just yet. But I expect Ravana might be powerful enough to cause this sort of thing."

I return to tick form and descend the chasms on reconnaissance, charging against the flow of fleeing trilobites. If I notice any immediate threats, I will turn around and flee myself.

Aye, we fought back some beasties in my homelands. The DM fails ta mention Nidhogg, dragon of destruction, who tears at th' roots of th' Hypercone Tree an' th' world!

You definitely will wanna escape with th' fiber when you glimpse whatever this is.

I am not overly worried. I have a Travel domain; I should be able to get myself out in a pinch.

Wisps of pale sepia smoke rise up from cracks in the Diamond. They mix with Eitr and freeze into ugly brown tendrils of frost. The earth shakes once again.

I shall hide myself in these tendrils, so long as I do not detect any sort of deicidic poison within them.

They are poisonous, and over time degrade the clarity of the adamas they touch.

With proper precautions you may hide in them safely, as they are not actively opposing you.
