He already has an extremely Steep ballista-shaped Artifact at any rate. That was the most valuable item in the Citadel that I came across.

"I bring you further news of the goings on in the Hamlet of Heroes.

"AIiCE has manged to use the HELRIDE to travel into the facet on the other side of the rift (called Rift A). This is what she found:
Diamond Master wrote:The rift is far from any form of life here. The world has not been influenced by Ravana.

The rift is a fracture, you discover; much like the ones between the Icy Wastes and the ones that sliced Arcane Zeus to madness. It has little direct impact on either world, but at times allows uncomfortable mingling of culture and energy.

At the far end of this new Facet, you find another rift. This one seems to lead to a little pocket world - a subset of the Icy Wastes, where certain doom is imminent. This rift is dangerously close to a massive black hole.

Upon further inspection, the black hole has been discovered to be quite far away from this second rift (called Rift B - surely I am the most creative of deities!). I do not believe that it poses any serious threat to this facet - not yet, anyway.

"Furthermore, Rifts A and B are quite far apart. AIiCE was only able to reach Rift B using the HELRIDE or her inherent deific powers.

"Does anyone know of these fractures, or of this Arcane Zeus?"

Some clarification:

Diamond Master wrote:The black hole is close enough to cause trouble to those entering and leaving the rift, should they miscalculate at all, but the rift is well outside the hole's effective area (event horizon) and is not getting any closer in the foreseeable future. It simply makes calculation difficult and dangerous, but does not pose a threat to the Gardens.

I think the rift is just symptomatic of some larger problem. I'd rather just focus on the Sslugs, the wolf, the shadow, maybe the tawny creature. They're immediate threats and potential threats that could go wrong. If the Sslugs are unchecked, we won't have to pretend to have an abandoned garden - it will be reality.

"Heh. A valid point. Though the ultimate trick may be the one that is reality, I do not think that faking death follows."

I wink at Yerkan.

Observe I's latest invention. It is a mockery of Ravana's ballista. It works by utilizing a calculated spray of lesser antiparticles. Th' results are quite lethal ta anyone or anythin' in its way. It emits a powerful, bathing light on a finely tuned wavelength. Since light is always a wave, never a particle, there is no risk ta th' wielder or th' land around him.

Thrash is wise...our Council has more to do with war than with peace...

Yerkan is wise, to recognize that the world cannot last...but perhaps it can be hidden.

The rifts...they existed before these younger Facets. I have little more to say about them...but if you should have a question, remember that I saw my brother...destroyed...by one. And his wife killed, decapitated at the skull.

An' I think th' rifts are th' same as th' ones in th' Icy Wastes, if you ask I.
