The Gastronomipod

A hollowed out glassy wave filled with halls, tunnels, and fortifications. It is here that the Council of the Gods deliberates important matters.

"I think we're all too close up to see the shape of the problem here. All these tremors and omens and Ravana - we don't know how they fit together. Is there a place I can go that's outside of the diamond? To look at the whole thing at once? I want a big-picture view."

It is physically impossible to be outside the Diamond of Existence, which is composed of every universe possible or impossible.

It is easy, on the other hand, to leave the Diamond Gardens facet where the gods live.

"The abrominae, Ravana, do they fit together somehow? They have no reason to work together, from what I can see. The abrominae seems to be a mind consumed by its own hunger, while Ravana is calm and thoughtful, though ultimately destructive. There are many legends of Ravana across the Facets. I would not be surprised if Ravana enjoyed the attention of stories and myths. I pity any god that feels worship and prayer are so necessary."

Hey, power is power.

I wouldn't be surprised either, but in all the myths I can find in the mute library he seems to be a pretty subtle deity, in some ways, while being completely blunt in others.

"Indeed. A scholar and quite intelligent, but perhaps he's got a bit of a temper, it seems.

"Whereas the Abrominae... well, that's a bit more enigmatic. Has the Abrominae even made attempts at communication thus far?"

In a dark wispy voice, the serpent speaks without sound:
"I am the Abrominae, devourer of magic! Slight mage, your magics also I wish to possess! But I do not bargain. I simply take what I want. Up until the present time of Asgardian glory, magic was far too scarce to achieve my awakening.
And you have guessed rightly: I come from a Facet between Facets, where magic is scarce, and all is the Abrominae, boring through the fabric of the Diamond itself!"

No bargaining does not necessarily mean no tricking. And the best trick is the one that the enemy MUST take, or else lose all that they wished to gain. Though I doubt that we can remove all trace of magic from ourselves, we can certainly highlight the fact that Ravana is more powerful than we, and even use this to our advantage, should the abrominae come.

I think that's our best bet against the Abrominae.
Ravana, however, seems defeatable, should he rear his ugly head.
