The Gastronomipod

Postby Grey Aides » Fri Nov 02, 2012 6:49 am

  1. The deities of the Council debate what to do about the Sslugs. They attempt to destroy the inactive god Xyr and take his Favor, and wind up imprisoning him.

Greetings...honored...deities.

I have joined your Council, and I thank you for the...opportunity to do so.

I believe that our attack against the....Sslugs should be quick and precise. A surgical strike...if you will.

Yerkan and Morbus, as hero deities and by their domains, are more suited to scouting and information gathering.

Durin's role is obvious as supplier. Great Thrash and Volatilus are the heavy hitters and must lead the attack when it comes.

I will do whatever is...necessary. I will...drift...over a Sslug and test my slow poison right away.

How does the Council like my proposal?

Heh. I might be slightly offended by that if it weren't so true: scouting and reconnaissance shall be my duty here. And I have a further Trick to show:

This is the Loupe Estoc, a weapon forged of adamas and magnifying crystal as well as hundreds of strange chemicals and solutions designed to react with blood and other organic matter. When it pierces skin, the elan vital of the target reacts with the blade of the sword, showing vital information about that creature that can be used for strategy.

Of course.

We may also be able to run more analyses using the Loupe Estoc, if we can think of something specific that we want to know.

Durin, you learn much of the way the Sslugs are organized, and would even be able to duplicate them on a lower Tier given enough time.

Well I don' want ta do that!

I do want ta know what might succeed in restructuring them. Electricity?

What more do we need ta organize ta take down th' Sslugs? We need more on their weaknesses...we could use more firepower...we'll need some sort o' trap...some magic...anythin' else?

What is the best use of our collective DM Favor in this situation?

It is...well worth...a gastropod-specific artifact.

Three enemies at one time...

Enormous salt shaker? Humorous...yet with a kernel of truth to it...we need something to prey on their mindless weakness.

Durin...as the Council's craftsman...we'd each need to give you only a portion of our DM Favor to achieve something useful...and it is your home which is currently under fire...

Hasn't Durin already tried a field-disruptor? Maybe modify that and bring it up to Artifact level. I would pitch in. Of course, it'd be nice if everyone who can afford to give does so.

I propose that Durin consider altering his disruptor to insert new programming. Self-replicating reorganization or something. The details are his job or maybe Yerkan's.

I assume we can be counting on the donations of Durin, Aides, Yerkan, Volatilus, and myself.
