to ask the Norns one question...

What should we ask?

Ordinarily I'd use it on somethin' philosophical, but mebbe we'd best use it ta defeat th' Sslugs somehow.

The Sslugs are the current threat, but surely, more are coming! Perhaps we could ask something that will be of use to us permanently. Or at least against all of the heralds.

This may be another key. Surely those powerful ladies have th' knack of showin' up in th' nick of time.

Then think of a good question! Something like "What is the Sslug's weakness." "How can the Sslugs be defeated."

"One question" is always such a vague statement, limited by the syntactic and semantic constraints of language...

Genies use it to their advantage all the time; it's possible we could use it to ours.

Something like "How do we defeat the heralds" could potential earn us a vague answer (or something that even the Norns themselves do not know), but if we get a straight answer, we should try to learn something that will be useful for a long time. "What is the sslugs' weakness" is maybe too specific. Though if it comes down to it, it may be our only choice.

"What method would stop the summoning of the future heralds mentioned by the Spawn of Earnaness" is potentially strong, but I'm not hopeful that there is an answer...

We could force an answer. Use some terminology like "What is th' best way for us ta..."
An' if we didn't use "stop" but rather "minimize th' impact"
