The Trickster's Riddle

This is the aesthetic centre of the Gardens. Here, great animals roam freely; here, the artworks and monuments of every culture are arranged. It is the most stunning neutral territory. Gnarly nighttwists, elegant yellow musk creepers, strong assassin vines, beautiful rare and Steep herbs, all grow here in attractive proportions. Each is laced with just a touch of magic frost which enables it to survive in the adamas-rich, strong-smelling soil.

The Diamond Master himself (no offense, given the recent comparison of the answer to someone not quite sane). As an impartial judge, the DM does not exactly "care" and as the ruler he certainly qualifies as a bit more than a mayor. His omnipresent watchtower cannot easily be surrounded, and this facet in which he lives is marked by cold. Otherwise, there may be some other judge that may reign over this realm that we have not yet discovered.

"Hahahaha! 'No offense meant.' Hahaha! You kill me. The creative are never quite sane!

All mirth aside, you have correctly guessed the riddle! I promised you great ransom, although..." Here, the creature rends Thrash's worn-out prison into gravel. "Although I find I am no longer truly in need of ransoming. How about some advice instead? Heed the advice of your Mirror more thoroughly, Yerkan!"

Yerkan, you receive 4 DM Favor and 4 Norn Favor for solving the riddle, although over too much time to receive the full reward the tawny creature promised.

Nicely done!

Surely, tawny creature, you do not wish our beautiful gardens destroyed any more than we do. Why not assist with your all?

"Well, it certainly took my long enough.

"In any case, however, I hope that this is not the last of our dealings with one another. It was good of you to stay and hear us out as we fumbled with your riddle, and I commend you on creating such an excellent one, and, of course, thank you for the advice.

"It is my hope that we will, at least, be on more... cordial terms after this. I am hoping that no more prisons or exploitation or breaking of words will be necessary. We have matched wits and displayed our strengths, and know one another perhaps a little better. Perhaps we could also have a name or some other token of your identity to mark this? You are a mystery to even me, and my hand itches every time I must again scribe the phrase "tawny trickster" in my records.

But, if nothing else, I am glad that we have been able to amuse you."

"Ha! I'll keep my name secret, then, for no reason other than to make your hands itch."

He disappears.

Hey, good job Yerkan!

I's seen th' Diamond Master sit idly by while worlds did crumble. Th' Norns they wept, but th' Diamond Master, he's a watcher.

But ta be entirely fair, it's his framework that let I travel ta these fine Facets ta escape th' fate of th' other Steepest an' First.
