"Ha! You think you have it figured out? Reading omens in contrails, as the case may be. If you can, you're a better riddler than I!!"
comes a voice from too many echoing directions.

"A will", maybe...

Otherwise I'd be tempted to say it was upside down and that first letter was a "G", but that seems less likely now.

So what kind of will do these things want?

They're certainly not getting me to write mine.

Well said, Yerkan!

I'm not sure the message is over - I see perhaps the beginning of a new trail there.

Will: willpower, will assent, William, write a will...

Yerkan...I am beginning to believe that your information-gathering dagger may actually be...the key...to the physical defeat of the Sslugs...

Interestingly, this is the Sslug of temptation writing in the adamas...

But doesn't will overcome temptation?

That's a good point. Let's make a formal prediction, in case this is a riddle - as th' tawny thing has pointed out.

A Will Overcomes Temptation!

A Will To Overcome Temptation!

Well, that could be either a really badly drawn O or a 2... So both of those are feasible.

The question is what do we do with the text even if we know what it says. It's not as though these sslugs are writing down the password to their code so we can reprogram them. Just saying "A Will to Overcome Temptation" loudly at Osis isn't gonna help us much, even if it earns us credit with the tawny little sneak.

Plus we have not done much with the other sslugs! They are still wrecking the place! And each is probably a Test in its own right - though I sure as Hel hope this riddle will be helpful for all three of them.

How does one best emphasize one's will? Simply by marching forward and Overcoming Temptation? I've already tried stabbing the bloody thing... And "stab it lots of times" is a rather disappointing answer to a riddle...
