Extended Tier Descriptions

The home of the Steepest Norns. The great tree has wafer-thin slices of diamond for leaves, and bronze agates plating the bark. Its roots are not visible from the Gardens as they extend throughout the entire Diamond of Existence in a hyperspatial loop.

Tier Descriptions

Inclusion Tier – Hero Deity
This tier is mostly a teaser of the greater things to come in the pantheon. It means you have incredible renown in your home plane on your home campaign-world Facet, and that you wish to become great within the multiverse. Get to talk to other Hero Deities from other Facets. To qualify for this tier, you should be a notable feature in the history of a campaign world, preferably one registered as a Facet on the Diamond of Existence. You need only find a DP god who is willing to sponsor you. Most Hero Deities are extremely high level or powerful characters, but not usually true gods themselves by a classical definition. Sometimes a small-time deity simply seeks recognition on the Diamond Pantheon.
Hero Deities are not permitted to be the Chief Ruler of a campaign world except in extenuating circumstances when a stronger native god is lacking. If they are the first in the Diamond Pantheon from their campaign world, they may register it but not rule it without an exception granted by the Diamond Master.
The classic Hero Deity has one divine and one mortal parent, and makes a name for himself defeating chthonic powerful monsters. They are still capable of being defeated by ordinary mortals, though they may be capable of fending off an entire army by themselves. The weakest example of a Hero Deity is Arachne, who defeated Athena in a weaving contest and was turned into a spider for it. The strongest example is Hercules, who was eventually accepted as a member of the core Olympian pantheon. Exalted characters are an excellent example of Hero Deities from an RPG.
Ask the question "Has almost everyone heard of me? Would they expect me to triumph in an impossible situation?" You might be a hero deity if the answer is yes.
Hero deities may hang out in the Hamlet of Heroes.
The rank of Hero Deity is important because it allows a character the chance to victory over a god.

Pavilion Tier – Campaign God
This tier is for gods who influence campaign worlds, grant spells to followers, and have considerable power. They have true divine power in a source-like way: Most are not borrowing power, but instead wielding power to influence the fates of mortals. Not all of the gods that get prayed to on a campaign are members of the Diamond Pantheon - there is a cost to joining or reaching this tier. Campaign gods will often share names with or be named after other gods, often with different spellings, titles, and builds.
The classic Campaign God is a demiurge, someone who is or was responsible for shaping a specific aspect of the universe. The weakest good example of a Campaign God is Anansi the Spider Man, who often was deceived by mortals or small-order fey. The strongest example is the Sky Gods, Odin and Zeus, who are the fathers of all the other gods in their pantheons and very powerful. Still, these Sky Gods can be defeated by powerful forces and are not Bezel Tier.
Campaign Gods sometimes rule campaign worlds. If they are the first god to reach the Diamond Pantheon from an established campaign, and are qualified to represent that world, they will be allowed to register it and become its Chief Ruler. To rule more worlds officially, they will need to purchase it as a reality revision.
Ask the question "Do people pray to me for help? Do they RECEIVE it?" You might be a campaign god if the answer is yes.
Campaign gods may hang out in the Campaign God Citadel.
The rank of Campaign God is important because it allows a character to remotely influence any sort of event; they also have a better hope of prevailing when entering a hostile campaign world or territory.

Bezel Tier – Worldcrafter God
This tier is for powerful game or campaign masters of any sort, those who fashion the Facets on the Diamond in a Steep and significant way. To qualify for this level, you must be actively assisting in the creation of a campaign world which is registered as a Facet in the Diamond of Existence. It should have a wiki or up-to-date summary. Your contribution should be significant and roughly equivalent to the rule of a Dungeon Master, Game Master, or referee over the entire world. You (and perhaps a co-DM if applicable) should have absolute rule over what happens on one (or more) particular campaign world.
When you are elevated to this Tier, you automatically receive the right to one campaign world registered with the Diamond Pantheon. To achieve the Tier, you have probably been running one all along, so Worldcrafters receive an automatic extra world registration should they need it.
The classic Worldcrafter is truly omnipotent or nearly so, unchallenged by anyone in their universe – except themselves or perhaps a dualistic enemy. The weakest well-known Worldcrafter the authors can think of is Arceus, the creator god of the Pokemon universe, time, antimatter, and knowledge, who can conceivably be trapped in a Masterball. Upper spectrum Worldcrafters might be Vishnu and Yahweh, who in their various incarnations and avatars have control over absolutely everything that happens. Both these gods are enigmatic and could even be labeled Steepest Tier.
Ask the question “Am I the biggest thing shaking on at least one campaign world?” If the answer is yes, you might be a Worldcrafter.
The rank of Worldcrafter is important because it shows that a character cannot be taken lightly even by the most powerful forces of the universe. Combat is rarely their first choice, because their being is of too much value to risk.

Crown Tier – Steepest Deity
This tier breaks the boundaries of what you can do. A Steepest god with a domain can use that domain in very versatile ways and holds dominion over lesser gods with that domain. They're the topmost gods whose games influence many things about the shared multiverse.
Steepest Deities have the power (but not the right) to enter campaign Facets to which they do not have permission. The Council heavily discourages this, however.
To qualify for Steepest tier, you must have many worshippers who pray to you for help in multiple campaign-world Facets and deserve to be the god other gods are named after: in some way, your richness should exceed standard mythology. There can only be one of each god in this tier: One Loki, one Helios - and similar god builds such as Steep Helios the Sun God and Steep Apollo the Sun God should be avoided.
There is no classic Steep God, because such a being can only be highlighted by the backdrop of the Diamond Pantheon.
Ask the question “Do other powerful gods look up to me? Am I the top of the top? The most extreme at everything I do?” If the answer is yes, you might be a Steepest Deity.
