Players:

A. Yerkan of Elish
B. Great Thrash (dead)
C. Volatilus
D. Morbus Sano (dead)
E. Grey Aides

The reward will be 4 DM Favor, split among all those who make it through the Descent Pore Array.

Here is the die roller.

Normal phase begins.

You find yourselves on a cavelike layer of the Abyss. Signs of long-gone demon habitation are everywhere - in lewd graffiti on the slimy cave walls, in the ruined hulks of strange machines, and in decaying, tarnished goods and tools.

Furry bats with hooked rear claws cling to every available surface. In many areas you are forced to push them aside with a toe or hand to make progress. Even with this prodigious amount of bats, you can hear more winging or chattering away behind certain constructed walls.

One such wall, with just a tiny knothole for an entrance, is a wooden wall with a vast pile of bat guano and oddly colored minerals. Flint arrowheads have been embedded in the wall.

Another is a labyrinth of resilient parchment walls, which the yōkai demons used as offices of sorts while scribing their horrid scrolls. This looks ready to fall apart at any moment, but somehow still resists destruction. Bats are occasionally heard bouncing off this paper wall. There is only a single clear space on the entire paper vestibule amidst all the rotting graffiti on the wall.

A wooden dynamo machine casts shadows on the cave walls near to it. It takes the form of a great circular windmill, paddles protruding in spiral patterns. It appears to connect to the Descent Pore Array through a system of conductive wires of three colors: a red wire clip, a blue wire clip, and an orange wire clip, each connecting to a loop about the size of a coin.

In the midst of the machine is a beam projector sending red light into a crystal globe, which scatters it in startling patterns. There is a grapple dangling just above the beam.

Behind the machine, is a glass terrarium with a locked door. It is crammed full of jungle plants and the stone wall around it is dotted with small mirrors.

A notice reads "Terrarium Will Not Open Without Proper Precautions."

What do you do?

No reason not to search. Hopefully I'll get some inspiration from whatever I find.

The gem fits, but the dynamo is generating no power.

I'll search around.

Got a red gem, so I will follow Yerkan's lead and pluck this low hanging fruit.

Then I shall see what is in the pile of bat guano. Spent many years on Thrash as a gardener. Not afraid to get my hands dirty.

The pile of bat guano seems to be exactly that, plus a bit of crushed mineral powder.

Well, when Volatilus, Morbus, and Aides get here, they will probably find blue gems, bookends, and chains in that same pile! haha

The grapple descends, but the shutters do not weigh enough for the grapple to reach the beam of light.
